Machine learning and external validation for predicting urinary tract cancer in patients with haematuria.
Collaboration with Dr Sinan Khadhouri (NHS Fife) and the multi-centre IDENTIFY Study Group on early detection of urinary tract cancers in patients referred to secondary care with haematuria.
We developed machine-learning models trained on patient demographics, medical history, and diagnostic results to better predict bladder and upper-tract cancer risk, and performed external validation across an international cohort to test the calibration and generalisability of the IDENTIFY Risk Calculator in real-world clinical settings.
